Blatantly Kitsch (Organizer) St Louis, MO

  The artists were asked to produce a print edition using non-traditional art  materials and embrace the  

  aesthetics of kitsch and popular culture. 24 artists participated.  The portfolio, along with the Rock and Roll 

  Damnation and Mug Shots portfolios were exhibited at Out of the box and Onto the Dance Floor at Fort

  Gondo Art Complex, St Louis, MO.  A lecture, briefly discussing printmaking processes, the history of

  printmaking and the print portfolio was given.  The Olin Library Special Collections, Washington University

  in St. Louis. has collected the portfolio.

Gallery Manager

Assists director with overseeing all aspects of running a fine art gallery at Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, CA that has three exhibition spaces and a print gallery; from the creation and maintenance of budgets, to all aspects of exhibition installation (technical and aesthetic), exhibition promotion (formats written material for published material], to handling sales and customer service.  Responsible for helping maintain extensive artwork inventory and exhibition chronology log for Smithsonian Institution's archive of the gallery and Patricia Correia Gallery's archive.  Responsible for the care and preservation of all artwork at the gallery (on view or in storage).  Responsible for documenting (logging and photographing) incoming and outgoing artwork on hardcopy, in computer, and on website. Assist with gallery projects from loans of artwork to museum exhibitions (national and international) and special institutions (Mayor's office, consulates, and embassies) to donating artwork to fundraisers.

                  

August 2005- December 2005, Lecturer, Printmaking and Drawing Area, Sam Fox School of Art and Design, Washington University in St Louis

Taught a 3unit upper division printmaking course, The Matrix and The Monoprint, to freshmen level through graduate level students. Students were introduced to a range of intaglio, relief, and monotype methods with an emphasis on creating monoprints using several printmaking matrixes.  The course included power point and slide lectures in order to familiarize students with the history of the process being introduced and introduce them to the work of past and contemporary artists and art movements.  Each assignment was followed by a critique where the students participated.

Front of house manager for catering company.  Over sees event set up and break down with event coordinator for large catering events.  Coordinated servers and food runners with back of house.

Assisted professor with conducting lectures, critiques and one on one interaction with students.  Assisted with grading assignments.  Projects ranged from traditional 2-D design assignments to interactive installation projects that were in collaboration with students from a 3-D design class

Fall 2004 Mary Borgman, Drawing 101

Assisted professor with conducting lectures, critiques and one on one interaction with students.  Assisted with grading assignments.  Presented themed slide lectures to students (e.g. contour line or movement and rhythm in drawing).  The class introduced the students to a variety of mediums (dry) and the basic principles of drawing and perspective with an emphasis on the measurement of angles.  The majority of class sessions were focused on drawing the figure (live model).

Fall 2003 Tom Huck, Printmaking Elective: Themed and Boxed

This was a themed class where students made a suite of prints and a housing unit for them.  Assisted professor with conducting lectures and one on one interaction with students regarding technical and conceptual aspects of their project.  Gave technical demonstrations for etching, monotype, and plate lithography
